The Toy Chest Family
Hi I'm Cath. I am a single mumma of 3 from the regional town of Gracemere in Queensland.
I am proudly autistic and I have some complex health issues, which has made regular employment difficult for me - so this little online toy store helps to support myself and my kids, and has become my pride and joy (apart from my darling children of course).
My beautiful middle child, Emma, sadly passed away in 2013 and it has taken us a lot of recovery to get where we are.
My two surviving children, Lilliana (13) and Xander (10) have become my assistants, product testers and cheerleaders in this journey.
Please know how grateful we are that when you buy from us, you are supporting an Australian small family business.
Learning Through Play
We believe children learn best through self-directed play, and in that sense, toys are the tools of a rich educational experience and essential to childhood development.
That doesn't mean children need every gimmicky new toy available. Most parents I know are discerning about their purchasing these days. We don't need to overwhelm our kids with material things. And it's encouraging to see more and more people considering the environmental impact of what they buy.
At The Toy Chest, I have carefully chosen each product we offer, based on considerations such as sustainability, lifespan, quality and overall awesomeness. A toy is not great value unless it lasts and is loved.
Happy Customers
We love our customers! and we'll do everything we can to make your shopping experience enjoyable. Exceptional customer service is top priority at The Toy Chest. Ask any silly questions you like, communicate any feedback and concerns. We are friendly, promise! We'll even gift wrap your purchases for free!

Sustainability Mission
We have partnered with Tree Nation, a non-profit organisation that allows citizens and companies to plant trees all around the world and offset their CO2 emissions. Planting trees is proven to be one of the most efficient solutions to fight Climate Change. Tree Nation's reforestation and conservation projects help to restore forests, create jobs, support local communities and protect biodiversity.
The Toy Chest Australia has committed to planting one tree for every product sold, making our website and products carbon neutral. You can visit our virtual forest here and learn more about Tree Nation.
At The Toy Chest we also aim to:
- reduce waste by selecting quality products that last and will not end up in land fill
- favour brands that manufacture ethically and sustainably
- use recycled, reusable and biodegradable packaging where possible

Charity Work
In 2013, we lost our precious daughter Emma Jade. She had become very sick very quickly and was flown from Rockhampton to Brisbane where we were accommodated by Ronald McDonald House. Tragically, Emma died, aged 9 months.
Obviously, it was a devastating and traumatic time, but I can't imagine how much more stressful it may have been if we'd had to worry about finding accommodation. So, in Emma's memory, The Toy Chest is very proud to support Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia.
Customers are given the opportunity to donate during checkout and the business itself will be donating and fundraising on special days.
