Their toys are produced in Indonesia from locally sourced, reclaimed rubberwood: a by-product of the latex industry. They also contribute to regeneration by planting a new tree for every reclaimed tree used. In fact, Tender Leaf Toys have been awarded the ICTI Ethical Toy Program seal of approval for their ethical and sustainable supply chain.
The company are well on their way to their goal of eliminating all single use plastic from their packaging as well, with nearly all products being packaged in 100% recycled cardboard.
Not only do they look after the environment, they are mindful of looking after people too. The family-run factory where every Tender Leaf Toy is made is an audited workplace that provides training and dependable employment for hundreds of local villagers, with a strong emphasis on respect and wellbeing.
Tender Leaf Toys meet exceptionally high standards of quality and safety. Each and every toy is hand-painted with paints that are free of heavy metals and lead, while all glue used is also non-toxic and formaldehyde-free. They meet (and in most cases exceed) the safety standards EN71, ASTM F963 and AS/NZS ISO.
Merrywood Tales
The Merrywood Tales Collection from Tender Leaf Toys - "based on the wonder of forest life and sustainable living" - consists of an utterly endearing troupe of figurines, as well as playsets to help them on their adventures. We currently stock a small number of this series and have found them so adorably irresistible that we hope to eventually add the entire range.
